Chinese stock markets have been on a tear this past week. The state-run China Securities Journal in a front-page op-ed outlined a “healthy bull market”, and has led interest from retail investors to surge. Margin debt, one measure of retail investor interest in stocks, has hit its highest levels since the bursting of the 2015 Chinese stock market bubble.
